As the founder of Copperline Group, Susan works with agencies and leaders to improve employee engagement, productivity, and profitability through strengths-based leadership training and coaching.

 

She also has extensive experience in the federal space in delivering multiple Franklin Covey courses including, but not limited to, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity, Working at the Speed of Trust, The 4 Imperatives of Great Leaders, and Project Management Essentials.

She is also an ontologically trained coach and is a credentialed member of the International Coach Federation. Susan is also a certified coach, speaker, and facilitator through The John Maxwell Group.

Susan has over 26 years of facilitation experience with local, state and federal government agencies. Prior to her federal service and founding Copperline Group, she was the deputy director of the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Division. Additionally, she served for 10 years as the Director of Public Safety Training at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC where she was the school director for Basic Law Enforcement Training, General Instructor Training, and several Speed Measurement Instrument certification courses. 

 

Furthermore, she served as an Intensive Probation/Parole Officer with the NC Department of Correction, Supervising Outreach Coordinator for the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, Chief of the FCC’s Consumer Affairs and Outreach Division, and most recently as an executive coach and training facilitator in the FCC’s Learning Development and Service Center. Her work with SkyLimit Coaching is separate and apart from her role at the FCC.

Client Experience

Most recently, Susan has delivered Strengths-based leadership training to the Mecklenburg County (NC) Sheriff’s Office Command Staff and Detention Sergeants. She also regularly facilitates Strengths-based leadership training for the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials’ (APCO) Certified Public-Safety Executive Program.

​

Additionally, she has administered, debriefed and conducted training on MBTI, StrengthsFinder, and 360 evaluations. Susan also has delivered more than 500 coaching hours which have been focused on leadership, career advancement, strengths, and conflict resolution.
